Meet our ambassador Laura Dundovic

When it comes to leading Aussie ladies who embody the HYPOXI values, there are few who fit quite as perfectly as our new ambassador Laura Dundovic – we go together like (low carb) bread and butter. Her holistic approach to health and wellness is as refreshing as it is inspiring, and we couldn’t be happier to officially welcome Laura to the HYPOXI family.

But it would be selfish of us to keep her all to ourselves, so we’re sharing the Laura love!

Can you start by telling us a little bit about yourself…

Hi, my name is Laura! I work as a model, actress and presenter. I am obsessed with all things health. I studied psychology, personal training and nutrition coaching so I look at health from all angles.

Have you always been into health and fitness or was there a catalyst or ‘uh huh’ moment that inspired you?

I was lucky to grow up with very fit and healthy parents so I’ve always had great role models. I was going to my gym lifting weights with mum from 16 and running before school with dad in primary school. Mum always cooked everything from scratch so taught me a lot about looking after myself.

What’s your philosophy when it comes to health and wellness?

I have a few! Firstly I think you need to look at all areas: fitness, nutrition and your mind when it comes to health. Secondly I don’t believe in diets, I think you need to do things that work for your lifestyle, or you will never have long term results. Thirdly I think choosing to be active is important. Exercise is one thing but be the person who takes the stairs instead of the lift or who walks or rides to work. Lastly, I believe in mindfulness.

Can you tell us a bit about your health and fitness qualifications and what inspired you to study?

I studied psychology at uni and got accepted into honours but went straight to Miss Universe. I will get back to my honours some day, I find the mind so fascinating. I moved to France a year ago, and while I was there I went through a period of reinvention and decided to focus more on what I loved, so I studied my Cert 3 and 4 in personal training by correspondence. To me, it felt very natural as I’ve always been so focused on my health and wellbeing. When I moved back to Sydney I did my nutrition coaching so I could really look at health from a complete 360 degree viewpoint.

What was it that first attracted you to HYPOXI?

I loved the fact that it was targeted fat burning and more effective than normal exercise. We all genetically hold our weight differently and no matter how hard we work some areas won’t change that much. I love that you can get to those areas with HYPOXI.

What do you love most about HYPOXI?

The fact that it only takes 30-minutes and you don’t sweat! I’ve done it in between jobs before on days when I would normally have to miss training.

What does a typical day in your life look like?

I don’t have a typical day and I love that. My schedule changes all the time. But every week involves a mixture of gym, running and HYPOXI, some time on planes, time with my partner and family, work and if it’s a good week I always try and add some time at the beach. I love the water!

What are your guilty pleasures?

I am a reformed chocoholic. I was so uncontrollably addicted until I moved onto carob. I am now eating nearly a bar of carob some days so not sure it’s that’s much better!

What’s your favourite food?

Anything chocolate flavoured!

What’s one thing not many people know about you?

I love to rap! I actually have a really weird memory I remember pretty much every lyric to every song. Even phone numbers of people from primary school I can’t forget! It comes in handy when learning scripts, I can learn them so easily.

Why would you recommend HYPOXI to others?

It’s just a great tool, like a secret weapon. A lot of my girlfriends are having babies at the moment…they’re tired and time poor, so for them HYPOXI would be perfect, highly recommended! For people who want to kick start a makeover or have been training hard at the gym but really want to target specific areas, this is a great way to compliment those workouts.
